Here is a photo of my finished mittens. It’s hard to make them out in the photo but I did the best I could.
Thanks for stopping by I do appeciate your visit. Have a nice day and Happy Knitting.
I tried really I did . I had every intention of staying away but I realize just can’t do it. I know that I would miss everyone just way too much. Seems bloggin is in my blood.I don’t know why I even bothered with a silly post like my last one. I do have things to tell you even if I can’t show you. I guess it was just the fact that I had so much trouble with this dinosaur of a PC that was making blogging no fun. I figured out a few of the settings and changed them and it is working so much better. Still can’t take pics though. I’m really not sure I can handle this til after christmas. I may just have to try my son’s Nickelodeon camera if nothing else. Hey it may be a little kiddie camera but if it works who am I to complain. I’ll try it tomorrow maybe.
I started my weight loss program again. Last time I did it I lost 50lbs and I looked good. I’ve gained back 30 of it and I really don’t like how it makes me feel. I realize it will be a long hard journey but it is one I am willing to take to make me feel and look better. I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
Also I dyed my hair. I went from a blonde to a red head. Let me tell ya the story behind my dying disaster.
I bought reddish blonde coloring and was excited to come home and give it a go. well that’s exactly what I did and let me tell you I was not a happy girl. It turned Tomato red. There was no way in H-E- double hockey sticks I was going to go around looking like a tomato.I did not take pics thank goodnes. though you might have had a good laugh if I had. It might have looked fine on someone else but it just was not me. I gave it one day and then went back and got a dark Auburn to cover over it. It is now more burgundy . I am getting used to it. It is such a big change from Blonde and it takes people by suprise when they see me but everyone seems to like it though because I have received many compliments.
In knitting news I have finished my fingerless gloves.
I have to type up the pattern and then find a test knitter before I will post it here. I want to make sure that it is easily understandable to all level of knitters.
Well I have pumpkin bread in the oven I must go check. Yea I know not good for someone who just started a diet but I promise it is not for me. Dh is taking it to work with him tomorrw. So I am forced to behave since it wont be here in the morn when I get up. But it sure smells yummy right now.
Night all and Happy knitting.
Yesterday was a great mail day.I received not one, not two but three packages yesterday.
First one was my recent contest winnings. The bag I won from Cathy. Wow she was very prompt in getting it out. This bag is wonderfully made and you can tell she put alot of work and time into making it. You can get one for your self at her Esty shop.
Second package was an unexpected one, from an amazing lady and knitter Grace.Of course if I had paid attention to what I read on her blog I might have known she was sending it to me. It is a nice big cloth in a variegated of pinks, yellows and oranges. I will being using it in the tub instead of for dishes. It’s just too pretty to muss it up with dirty yukky food stains.
And the final package was from Rachel my tea swap partner over on Ravelry. She really out did herself. She sent lots of great goodies. Tea and treat of course. For the tea she sent three kinds,First a loose leaf Keemun Black Tea by Swan Sisters and two different Indian Spiced Chai by Slo Chai, Honey Bush Tea and Yerba Mate. All ones I have yet to try. Next was Crills Salt Water Taffy and two chocolate truffles, I think they are turtles. They have caramel and pecans. Yummy. One is already gone. Two great books, Knitting on the Road By Nancy Bush. It is sock patterns for the traveling knitter. And then a gardeners book called HollyHock Days By Sharon Lovejoy. And the softest yarn a chunky Misti Alpaca in 100% baby alpaca. I don’t know yet what I will make with it but it will be something for myself that is for sure. Thanks Rachel for a wonderful package.
I also splurged and bought something for myself. Last Friday Dh and I went shopping for him to get a few costume items for his job at The Gates of Terror and we stopped at the book stores while we were out. I picked up One Skein Wonders and boy I must say I LOVE this book. It has a lots of great projects and I see so many I want to make I don’t know which one to do first. If you don’t have to book in your library it is one you must have. Next book on my list is the companion 101 Designer -One Skein Wonders.
Well now I am off to call the school and let them know Mr Teenager wont be there today because he is sick. Happy Knitting.
Guess what I won yet another prize. Abigail left me a comment telling me I was her 2000th comment. Wow that was unexpected but how cool is that. Wonder what the pressie will be. With all these contest winning as of late, I think I am going to have to repay the favor soon. I will have to think about it and make it something good.
I sat down today and sewed up a little bag much like the one I won here. It was the first time I have ever put a zipper in anything. I wasn’t sure how it would go but hey I did good. I wish I could show you. I am really pleased with how well it turned out. I will have to have my friend Donnely take a picture for me later this week and email it to me so I can put it up for you all to see. I definately will be making more of these.
I’ve started doing some mitered squares the pattern is for cotton and uses size 7 needles. However I have cast on using size 11 and am knitting with Cestari wool. I am going to sew the squares together and make a hotpad and then felt it. It would be perfect for under my teapot if I was actually making it for myself but it is a gift for someone else. I do hope they like the colors I choosen. I’ve decided on green and brown. The colors actually look nice together. I can’t wait to show you.
Well I must go for now. Happy knitting and Have a nice day.
Yea yea I know pumpkin is not a spice but it sounded good to me.I was doing some searching for pumpkin spice tea because it is one flavor I have yet to try and I am so in the mood for all things Fall even though Summer is still here. While searching I came across these. Well guess who just happens to have a pumpkin on the kitchen table ready to be cut up and cooked. Well ya know what I’m going to be making tomorrow. I wish I could share some with everyone but I can’t so I thought I’d share the recipe instead so you can make your own. I think I’m going to add white chocolate chips to my batch. I can almost taste them now. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Well gotta go fix Mr. Fisherman’s lunch for work. Happy A great day and Happy Knitting.
and I’ll express it anyway I want. I borrowed this from Grumperina. But it suits me just fine. She knits some wonderful sweaters and I enjoy reading her blog. I love to see what others are knitting and ooh and ahh over their sweaters and knitted tops and some of them are really amazing. I however have no desire to knit tops and sweaters. I am quite happy with knitting smaller items like socks and hats and wash cloths and baby items.
Speaking of socks I am playing with making one without a pattern.I figured if I couldn’t find one that I liked I’d just make my own. I am working on the cuff right now. If it turns out ok I will share it with you here. I’ll get you to try sock knitting yet Miss Grace. HEE HEE kidding ya.
One last thing. I want to thank those of you who have been reading my blog. You may not all be commenting but I can tell you are visiting. You are what keeps me blogging even when I get discouraged.
